coloring for a cause at the cheesemonger invitational

Great things happen when we come together.
Each year, Vermont Creamery eagerly attends the Cheesemonger Invitational, the biannual competition where the nation's most formidable cheesemongers vie for the winner's circle.
Only one monger can wear the crown, but we root for all of our heroes behind the cheese counter who have worked tirelessly to master their craft.
This year, we challenged our fellow curd nerds to show off their artistic sensibilities for a very worthy cause. Armed with magic markers and a canvas full of whimsical illustrations from our new brand design (more on that later!) we asked the CMI audience to "Color for a Cause."
For each Vermont Creamery illustration colored in at our Vermont Creamery table, we donated $5 to the Vermont Foodbank. Together with our industry kin, we were able to raise $1,705 to help serve hungry Vermonters.
We recognize that this small action will not cure hunger; with 1 in 4 Vermonters suffering from food insecurity, there is much work to be done. Each $1 donation to the Vermont Foodbank buys 3 meals for a family in need, and every dollar counts.
Our partnership with the Vermont Foodbank is a valued part of our efforts to give back to our community. As neighboring businesses (really, a five-minute walk!) our employees participate in monthly paid volunteer sessions at the Vermont Foodbank, packing and sorting perishable items that will be distributed to our neighbors in need.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a quick coloring session! To learn more, volunteer or donate to the Vermont Foodbank, visit www.vtfoodbank.org.
