Our biggest little cheese, Coupole, took home "Best in Class" in its category at the World Championship Cheese Contest in Wisconsin! As a “Best in Class” winner, Coupole advanced to the World Championship round, and was the only Vermont cheese to move into the final Top 20.

This year, the World Championship Cheese Contest saw a record 3,402 entries; cheesemakers from 32 American states and 26 nations entered cheeses into 121 classes of dairy products. Fifty-five expert judges including experienced cheese graders, buyers, dairy science professors and researchers from 15 American states and 20 countries evaluated the entries over two days.

Fun facts about Coupole:

Coupole is the official cheese of Halloween (Brains!).

It’s the largest of Vermont Creamery’s aged cheeses, weighing in at a whopping 6.5 ounces.

It is the favorite cheese of Creamery co-founder, Allison Hooper.

Coupole means “Dome” in French.

Vermont Creamery's president and fearless leader Adeline Druart was invited to judge the competition (not our cheeses though!) by the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association. She chronicled her tour-de-cheese in photos.
