Summer may look a little different here in Vermont, but it is by no means cancelled. For us, summer means the sound of goats bleating, blue skies and rolling green hills, warm days and long evenings, and now, socially-distant farmers markets overflowing with seasonal produce—the perfect recipe for one of our favorite ways to enjoy summer: eating outside. From backyard dinners with family to picnics to barbecues, there is no better way to soak up the fleeting days of summer than dining alfresco (with a schmear of goat cheese and dollop of crème fraîche, of course).
Summer meals should be no-fuss: quick and easy to make, centered around seasonal flavors, and easy to take on the go. We’ve created a menu of some of our favorite summer recipes, made with our fresh goat cheese and crème fraîche, and featuring the abundant produce of the season as the star. We’ve also shared a few simple tips for creating the ultimate outdoor dining experience.
We may not want to admit it, but the long days of summer are numbered. So get out of the kitchen, spread out a blanket, spread on the goat cheese, and slow down with the flavors of the season.
