Curried Apple & Walnut Salad

This crunchy curried apple and walnut salad is delicious year round.


3 crisp, sweet apples , (such as Gala or Macintosh) peeled, cored and diced

4 inner stalks of celery, thinly sliced on the diagonal

1/4 cup chopped red onion

1/4 cup chopped walnuts,

Raisins, currants or dried cranberries , as desired

2 teaspoon chopped mint leaves

Salt and pepper

1/2 cup Vermont Creamery Quark

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 1/2 teaspoon Madras curry powder

1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice


  • STEP 1

    Toss together apples, celery, onion, walnuts, raisins, and mint. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

  • STEP 2

    Whisk together Vermont Quark, mayonnaise, and curry powder in bowl until smooth and creamy.

  • STEP 3

    Fold in lemon juice.

  • STEP 4

    Coat salad ingredients with dressing. Taste for seasoning, adjusting as necessary.
