Tart Cherry & Walnut Salad with Classic Crumbled Goat Cheese

This company-worthy salad combines fresh cherries, crumbled chèvre, and a maple balsamic vinaigrette for a simple and delicious lunch or side. Serves two as an entree or four as a side salad.



1 small head Frisee, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces

small head red leaf lettuce, washed and torn into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

1 cup fresh tart cherries, or other seasonal fruit

1 (container) Vermont Creamery Classic Goat Cheese Crumbles


1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

2 teaspoon maple syrup

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 clove garlic, finely minced

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Black pepper, to taste


  • STEP 1

    Layer salad ingredients in large bowl in order listed. Set aside.

  • STEP 2

    Add all of the dressing ingredients into a small jar with a tight fitting lid and shake until well incorporated.

  • STEP 3

    Drizzle about half of the dressing on salad and gently toss. Add more dressing to taste. Serve immediately.
