2021 MISSION REPORT

SHARE

Each year, we take a moment to pause in mindful reflection on the year passed; we assess our progress over the last twelve months, measure our impact on and commitment to our people, our planet and our craft. What follows is a comprehensive look at our year by the numbers, and we could not be prouder to present our work towards the important goals we set last year.

We recertified as a B Corp.

This practice is conducted every three years to ensure that B Corps continue to progress against ever-increasing standards. The B Impact Assessment audits and scores companies in Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and customers. Vermont Creamery’s overall B Impact Score this year is 83.3

We Supported Universal Childcare.

We were proud to support the work of Let’s Grow Kids and to see the passage of groundbreaking legislation for universal childcare.

We are Building a Future for Vermont Goat Dairies.

In 2021, we received our first shipment of goats’ milk from Joneslan Farm, a fifth-generation cow dairy that transitioned to goat farming. Because goat farming offers an alternative and brings further diversification to the Vermont agricultural system, we are positioned to be an important partner in this process.

Our team of 125 Bettermakers showed grit and determination in a trying year. From reducing our business waste by 21 percent while achieving 11.8 percent revenue growth, to launching a new line of premium sour cream and a dessert-inspired line of fresh goat cheese logs, we hit milestones and set even bigger goals for the coming year.

We hope you’ll join us on our journey to craft delicious dairy that tastes better because it’s made better.
