Vermont Creamery has once again earned B Corporation recertification, achieving its highest score to date: 89 points. First certified in 2014, we joined a global movement of businesses using their power to balance purpose and profit. Eleven years later, that commitment runs deeper than ever.
B Corp certification, administered by the nonprofit B Lab, recognizes companies that meet rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. To maintain certification, businesses recertify every few years and demonstrate continuous improvement across a wide range of criteria, from employee well-being to environmental stewardship.
Recertifying as a B Corp is more than a milestone; it is how we operate. This year’s score reflects the dedication of our team to integrity and community, and the collective work of our employees, our partners in the Vermont dairy community, and everyone who believes business can be a force for good.
Our latest assessment highlighted progress across several areas of the business. We have invested in employee engagement and support programs, including a partnership with Green Mountain United Way’s Working Bridges initiative to strengthen employee well-being.
The evaluation also recognized our ongoing contributions to the local community, from workforce growth and supplier partnerships to charitable support through volunteering, product donations, and sponsorships.
We are especially proud of our work to strengthen Vermont’s goat dairy supply chain in collaboration with the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center and UVM Extension. This focused effort received special recognition in our recertification and reflects our core belief that thriving employees, responsible sourcing, and strong local partnerships are essential to long-term success.
Vermont Creamery is part of one of the most vibrant B Corp communities in the country. Vermont’s network of Certified B Corporations, spanning food, agriculture, and outdoor recreation, has become a model for how local businesses can work together to protect the environment, support employees, and strengthen their communities. With more than 40 Certified B Corps headquartered here, Vermont boasts the highest number of B Corps per capita in the nation.
Since 1984, Vermont Creamery has built its reputation on consciously crafted dairy, a deep commitment to sustainability, and the belief that good food can be good for people and the planet. The B Corp framework continues to serve as both compass and challenge, ensuring we keep raising the bar on our environmental and social impact.
