WHAT: An in-person media event announcing the landmark partnership between two mission-driven companies, Vermont Creamery and Vanguard Renewables, in support of their shared goal to turn food waste into powerful renewable energy. Vermont Creamery will also announce its membership in the Farm Power Strategic Alliance – a coalition of like-minded companies that are committed to a low-carbon future.

WHY: If food waste were a nation, it would be the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases behind China and the U.S. That’s why Vermont Creamery is proud to partner with Vanguard Renewables to turn food waste into low carbon renewable energy via Vanguard’s Farm Powered® anaerobic digesters and Organics Recycling Facility. Vanguard Renewables recycles packaged, liquid, or solid food and beverage waste together with dairy manure into low carbon renewable energy. The process also produces a lowcarbon fertilizer that host farms can use to support regenerative agriculture practices and provide the American farmer with a diversified income stream.
Acting on their mission to reduce food waste, Vermont Creamery is thrilled to partner with Vanguard Renewables to recycle their inedible food waste at the largest Farm Powered anaerobic digestion facility in the northeast. Vermont Creamery joins the ranks of Unilever, Starbucks, Dairy Farmers of America, Chobani, Cabot Creamery, Stonyfield Organic, Smithfield Foods, Kikkoman, Schreiber, Polar Beverages, Hillebrand Gori and Food Tank in the Farm Powered Strategic Alliance (FPSA). The FPSA aims to avoid or eliminate food waste first and repurpose what can’t be eliminated into renewable energy via farmbased anaerobic digesters.
