Vermont Creamery is proud to announce the continuation of the Bob Reese Scholarship for Aspiring Cheese Professionals, honoring our co-founder and artisan cheese pioneer, Bob Reese. This scholarship aims to support passionate individuals who aspire to enter the cheese business and contribute to the vibrant community of artisanal cheesemaking. 

For 2025, we are thrilled to offer two scholarships to attend the American Cheese Society Annual Conference in Sacramento, California, from July 23–26, 2025. This conference serves as a hub for cheese enthusiasts, professionals, and industry leaders to gather, share knowledge, and celebrate the craft and science of cheesemaking. 

Requirements and How to Apply: 

1. Eligibility:  This scholarship is open to individuals who are passionate about cheese and the cheese industry and are eager to make a meaningful contribution to the artisan cheese community. Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and at least 18 years old at the time of application. 
2. Application Deadline:  Applications for the Bob Reese Scholarship will close on June 9, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered. 
3. Application Process:  Interested individuals can apply by completing the online application form, which will be made available on Vermont Creamery's website on May 19, 2025. The scholarship will also be promoted through our email newsletter and social media platforms. The application will include short-answer questions designed to assess the applicant's passion for cheese, their vision for the future of the industry, and their commitment to community and sustainability. 
4. Selection Process:  A panel of representatives from Vermont Creamery will review all submitted applications. Two winners will be selected based on the strength of their responses, their potential to make a positive impact in the artisan cheese community, and their commitment to learning and growth. 
5. Notification:  Recipients of the Bob Reese Scholarship will be notified on June 13, 2025. They will receive detailed information about conference logistics, travel arrangements, and accommodations. 

Vermont Creamery is excited to support the next generation of cheese professionals through the Bob Reese Scholarship. By investing in passionate individuals and providing them with opportunities for education and networking, we aim to nurture innovation and sustainability in the artisan cheese industry for years to come. 

This scholarship offering has a maximum out-of-pocket payment of $2,500 per recipient.
