Butter-Forward Holiday Recipes

SHARE

There are things we sacrifice during the holidays (our sanity for one) but there is one thing we are not willing to give up and that is good quality Cultured Butter.

Cultured Butter’s versatility is boundless: grate it for a flakey pie crust, brown it for depth & flavor, or cream it for the finest cake crumb you’ve ever seen.

It’s the unsung holiday hero so if you're looking for more ways to incorporate cultured butter into your holiday recipe repertoire check out our butter-forward favorites here.

All Butter Pie Crust

This classic all butter butter pie crust recipe is an everyday essential. We use it year-round as a base for all our pies. It comes together quickly and has great flavor and flaky texture from the high butterfat cultured butter.

Browned Butter Orange Cardamom Cake

Plush, super moist, with a tender crumb, this cake gets a dose of deep, layered nutty flavor from browned cultured butter. The brown butter perfectly complements bright, vivacious green cardamom, orange zest, and fragrant vanilla. To keep things extra supple, the top of the baked cake is poked all over with a toothpick and then brushed with an orange simple syrup. Everything is topped off with big swooshes of buttercream frosting bolstered with crème fraîche.

Cheesy Chive & Onion Crackers

These bite-sized crackers are a festive mashup between cheez-its and sour cream ‘n’ onion chips. The base starts with Vermont Creamery Unsalted Cultured Butter and lots of finely grated sharp white cheddar and gruyère cheese. These are a great make-ahead snack—you can freeze them after rolling, cutting, and garnishing them, then transfer the raw, frozen crackers to a zip-top freezer bag. When it’s party time, all you have to do is bake them from frozen, adding a couple minutes to their bake time. Bonus: your house will smell really good when your guests arrive.
