10 Quarantine Snacks for Cheese Lovers

SHARE

To our fellow curd nerds out there working and schooling from home, we see you.

You are all staying sane while staying home and that’s not easy. We really have snacks and screens to thank for maintaining household continuity these days. If not for an endless supply of sweet and savory snacks, kids would surely go on home school strike and we would probably join them.

We’ve all found ourselves idling in front of an open refrigerator looking for something new that may have appeared since the last time we checked five minutes ago. We ran out of crackers days ago but we’re still eating cheese. We’re finding new things to spread butter on, and bread is being baked around the clock. There are cookies in the oven, and you’re stress baking mini muffins by the kilo to keep up with your kids’ voracious appetites. We get it.

Let’s get real, snacks are becoming the meals, and there’s no shame in that.

During times of quarantine, airport eating rules apply; cookies and wine are breakfast food, this is no man’s land. We are all in this together, and we will sustain the snack train as long as it takes to get us through this tricky time.

If like us, you focused your grocery shopping efforts so heavily on sensible staples that we overlooked the snacks—fear not. We have easy recipes to get you cheese lovers through this.

Almost No Mess Shortbread Cookies

If these cookies were a movie, our cultured butter would win Best Actress in a Leading Role. Seriously though, these cookies from Hummingbird High are so easy to pull together and are the perfect snack for any occasion – even a pandemic. Everything Cheese Ball

We may not be entertaining friends and family these days, but that doesn’t mean you can’t whip up a quick cheeseball for movie night. Netflix, if you’re listening, it’s time to release those new shows and movies you’ve been sitting on for spring. The time for Netflix, cheese and chill is now.

Fresh Chive Dip

We live for a little dip, especially one that combines fresh goat cheese and herbs. If you don’t have fresh herbs grown from your perfect vegetable garden in the Hamptons, as Ina says, store-bought dried herbs are fine.
